How Much Does Umrah Cost from the UK in 2026 and 2027?

A realistic breakdown of what Umrah costs from UK airports in pounds, from economy packages to the last ten nights of Ramadan, and where your money actually goes.

How Much Does Umrah Cost from the UK in 2026 and 2027?

For most British pilgrims, a standard Umrah package costs between about £850 and £2,200 per person, and considerably more in Ramadan. Where you land in that range depends on your departure airport, the season, how close your hotels are to the Haram and how many people share a room.

Typical package prices per person

Package level10 nights, normal seasonWhat you get
Economy£850 to £1,050Simple hotels with a shuttle in Makkah
3 star£950 to £1,25010 to 15 minute walk to the Haram
4 star£1,150 to £1,5505 to 10 minute walk, breakfast included
5 star£1,500 to £2,300A few minutes from the Haram
Ramadan, last 10 nights£3,000 to £6,000+Peak demand, prices rise sharply

These ranges assume four people sharing a room and include a return flight with taxes. Prices for two sharing are usually 20 to 30 percent higher per person.

Where the money goes

Flights

Return economy flights to Jeddah or Madinah usually cost around £450 to £700 from London and Manchester. Saudia flies direct from Heathrow and Manchester, and many other airlines connect through Istanbul, Doha, Dubai or Cairo. Christmas, half-terms, the summer holidays and Ramadan cost more.

Hotels

Hotels are where prices vary most. A room near the Haram in a normal week might cost a couple of hundred pounds a night. The same room in the last ten nights of Ramadan can cost three or four times as much.

Visa, insurance and transport

The visa application, mandatory health cover, airport transfers and travel between Makkah and Madinah usually add a couple of hundred pounds per person. Fees are set on the Saudi side and change from time to time, so we confirm them when you book.

How to keep the cost down

  • Travel outside school holidays if you can. Late January, early February and early autumn are often good value.
  • Share a room. Quad sharing is the cheapest per person and works well for families.
  • Mix hotel levels. Some pilgrims choose 5 star in Makkah and 3 star in Madinah, where hotels are closer together.
  • Book Ramadan early. Prices rise every month as Ramadan approaches.
  • Be flexible with your airport. Flying from Heathrow or Manchester can save money compared with regional airports.
